South Pennine History Group Study Day

The South Pennine History Group and the societies behind it have run a study day nearly every year since 2007:

2012 DNA Science and its Application to South Pennine Surname Studies (Saddleworth)

2011 South Pennine Landscapes in Transition 1700-1914 (Hebden Bridge)

2010 Mapping the past (Saddleworth)

2009 Pennine Testimonies: probate documents from the early modern period (Malhamdale Local History Group)

2008 Historic Pennine Landscapes (Hebden Bridge)

2007 (Saddleworth)

These have always been very successful events, attracting a wide range of attendees from across Yorkshire and Lancashire.

The title of this year’s conference is Power and Potability: Water in the South Pennines Landscape and is being hosted by the Hebden Bridge Local History Society, in conjunction with Pennine Horizons. It is being held on Saturday 6 September 2014, 9.15 a.m. – 4.30p.m. The venue is the newly refurbished auditorium at the Birchcliffe Centre in Hebden Bridge. We hope you will join us for what promises to be a very informative and enjoyable day. Lunch and refreshments are included.
